In October, I held my very first video response contest in order to celebrate me reaching 10,000 subscribers, as well as my 1 year anniversary on Youtube!

Since the contest was held in October, the theme was ‘Scream for Halloween’ where I asked my subbies to come up with a makeup look that is inspired by horror.

Overall, I received 35 eligible entries, which is an amazing response! I want to thank everyone who took the time to enter my contest, I really do appreciate the wonderful effort!

I had alot of fun watching the videos and am so impressed by everyone’s makeup skills and creative thinking. I had to watch all the entries several times before I finally came up with the 3 winners.

3rd PLACE WINNER

Name: Jessica (SassyMeUp)

Jessica came up with an old hag/evil witch makeup look. She used a prosthetic nose and chin and contoured her face with shades of blue. The end result looks like a scary witch straight out of a fairytale.

2nd PLACE WINNER

Name: Cassandra (susiewantsasqueeze)

Cassandra came up with a wonderfully creative makeup look that was inspired by the dark art of Tim Burton, Henry Selick and Marilyn Manson. She combined all of these elements to create a creepy work of art on her face.

1st PLACE WINNER

Name: Lisa (darkerthanblack216)

Lisa came up with a gothic Victorian circus makeup look, also taking inspiration from one of her favourite animes – ‘Black Butler’. The look consists of a beautifully intricate face design, with intense black and red eye and lip makeup. Her attention to detail is just amazing and she even put together a matching hat and costume.
