As many of you guys know, I have been looking for a full-time job ever since I completed my Honours degree in Marketing and Management in late 2010. I have to admit, my job hunting experience was difficult and often discouraging, with countless rejections due to my lack of corporate marketing experience.
But after a year spent working part-time and building my Youtube channel, I have finally landed a full-time job! YAY!!!
I’m so happy to announce that I am now the Marketing and PR Manager of bellabox Australia! I started in late December 2011 and officially joined the team at the start of 2012.
I feel very lucky to have this job because it combines my tertiary degree with my passion for beauty. I am learning new things everyday and there is never a dull moment, not to mention I am always surrounded by like-minded beauty junkies
Now let me tell you a little bit more about bellabox, as we are a relatively new company. bellabox is a beauty sampling company, as well as an online beauty retailer, similar to the concept of BirchBox in the U.S.
It is Australian owned and operated and founded by Aussie twin sisters (and super businesswomen) Emily and Sarah. Emily currently manages bellabox Singpore while Sarah (my boss) manages bellabox Australia.
So how does bellabox work? For $15AUD a month (including postage), we deliver a box of 5-7 beauty samples (some of which are full-size) right to your door.
We also endeavour to sell the full-size versions of the sample products on our online store, so if you like something in the box, you can buy it straight away!
And as of December last year, we have also launched bellobox, which is our men’s version of the bellabox. This is available for $30 every 3 months, and we also stock the men’s products on our online store.
You can watch fun reviews of the bellobox by awesome Aussie male beauty Youtubers – ProjectCHESTER, JRichMakeup, LeighByTM and NubileNathan.
At bellabox, we try to source unique and cult products from well-known and boutique brands within Australia and around the world. Some of our exciting brand partners include Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics or OCC, Savoir Faire, Pangea Organics, A’kin, Kosmea, Orofluido, Napoleon Perdis, Alpha-H, Erborian, One Skin System, First Aid Beauty, LAQA & Co., just to name a few. You can view our full list of brand partners here.
Although my role is predominately marketing and PR, we are also having discussions about me filming some bellabox makeup tutorials in the near future. These videos will be posted on the official bellabox Australia Youtube channel instead of my own.
Also, because I am now working full-time (which is still something I’m gradually adapting to), I have significantly less time to film my own videos. It is hard for me, as you all know how much I love making videos for you guys, but at the same time, it’s a reality of life. I will still try my very best to film at least one video every two weeks (fingers crossed!), as well as keep up with this blog.
But remember you can always communicate with me on my official Facebook page, as well as on Twitter!
On my announcement video (as well as on my Facebook page), I asked you guys to help me choose the look for my very first makeup tutorial of the year. It was between 1) 60’s Twiggy makeup look, 2) rainbow inspired makeup look or 3) bohemian/hippy inspired makeup look.
The majority of you guys wanted me to do the Twiggy look, so Twiggy it is! But don’t worry, I will still be doing the other two looks in due time, because I think they are equally awesome!
I will be filming the tutorial this weekend, so stay tuned and stay smiling!
