Earlier in December, I held a giveaway of 1 pair of Velour Lashes in the style of ‘You Complete Me’ and I’m here to announce the lucky winner!
The method I used this time to pick the winner is slightly different to my other giveaways, where I physcially counted the number of eligible entries and then entered the number in random.org to draw the winner. I found this method to be too time-consuming and inefficent.
So this new method involves me scrolling through the total number of pages of comments on the video, which as you can see by the screenshot is 41.
Then I went onto random.org and inputted 1 to 41 and generated the random result of 16.
And because every page contains 10 comments, I inputted 1 to 10 and generated the random result of 8.
Therefore, the winner is the 8th comment counted upwards from page 16 of the comments.
Which makes the winner…z0mbi3nonii!!!
YAY!!! Congratulations! And I find it so sweet that she says she wants to wear the lashes to her wedding next year, I’m sure she’ll look stunning with them!
And thanks so much to everyone who took the time to enter – I received almost 400 entries which is amazing!
Thanks once again to the lovely Mabel and Angela for kindly sponsoring this giveaway!
Stay tuned for more exciting contests and giveaways next year ^___^
Back in September, I got an e-mail from Angela from Velour Lashes in regards to me trialing and reviewing their line of false eyelashes.
Being a huge falsies junkie (I own a whole tubful of false eyelashes!) and after doing some research, I was very interested in trying out Velour Lashes.
The reason why it took me a long time to actually film this video, was because I wanted to really try out the lashes properly so that I am able to give a thorough and accurate review.
Velour Lashes are based in Toronto, Canada and founded by two best friends Mabel and Angela, who share a love for fashion. Their mission is to instill in young women a sense of elegance and prominence when wearing their lashes and mostly importantly, to have fun!
So what sets Velour Lashes apart from other false eyelashes?
Well each pair of Velour Lashes are individually hand-made with 10% authentic mink fur! This makes the lashes long-lasting (can be used up to 25 times), lightweight and comfortable.
And the best part is that it’s completely cruelty-free (Yay!!) because the fur is gently brushed from live minks and then sterialised to ensure safe and non-allergenic use.
Because of the real fur, you should not apply mascara on top of the lashes or soak them in any kind of liquid as it will make them lose their style, shape and curl.
Off topic but aren’t minks the cutest little critters ever?!
The pair of lashes that I picked to try are called ‘T Dot Ohhh!’ which is a cute tribute to the city of Toronto where the girls are from.
These lashes caught my attention because of its unusual and unique two-toned effect where the inner section is more dramatic than the ends. The design is also said to be inspired Taylor Swift’s signature winged look.
And here’s some photos of how the lashes look on me. I love how they help open up the eyes and gives off a dolly-eyed look. They are fun and flirty yet also innocent and cute
Although they are very curly and full, the mink fur also gives them a natural quality. They are very comfy to wear and feel very light – almost like you’re not wearing false eyelashes!

* Special thanks to Velour Lashes for kindly sponsoring this video and blog post.
In October, I held my very first blog giveaway in conjunction with the Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The prize was a special pink-edition of Dr Lewinn’s Hand & Nail Cream
There were 6 girls who entered, which I’m very happy about because my blog is still relatively new. I just wanted to thank everyone to participated and helped spread the word about breast cancer awareness.
I used random.org in order to determine the winner and the winner is………
SARAH GUENNOU!!!
Woohooo!! Congratulations Sarah! I’m very happy for you, especially because you’ve been such a wonderful long-time supporter of my Youtube Channel ^___^
I have sent an e-mail to you requesting your postal details, please get back to me asap so I can send the prize off to you!
October is internationally recognised as the Breast Cancer Awareness Month and as most of you guys would have noticed, many products have turned ‘pink’ this month to support the cause.
For those who have followed my channel since the start would have watched my ‘Barbie Makeup Tutorial – Think Pink for Breast Cancer’ around this time last year. This year, I’ve decided to do a blog giveaway in order to help raise awareness.
Source: The Breast Cancer Site
Breast cancer is cancer originating from the breast tissue and makes up 22.9% of all cancers in women worldwide.
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women in Australia.
One in nine women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.
By 2015, 15,409 women are projected to be diagnosed with breast cancer in Australia every year – an average of 42 women every day.
Australian women diagnosed with breast cancer have an 88% chance of surviving 5 years after diagnosis relative to the general population of women in Australia.
Improvements in survival are attributed to earlier detection of breast cancer through population-based mammography screening and improved treatment outcomes for breast cancer.
Increasing age is one of the strongest risk factors for developing breast cancer. About three out of four breast cancer cases occur in women aged 50 years and older.
On average, seven women die from breast cancer every day in Australia. Finding breast cancer early increases the chance of surviving the disease.
Of the 14,204 women predicted to be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011, over 800 are expected to be less than 40 years old.
Although rare, breast cancer can also affect men, accounting for approximately 1 in 125 cases.
So as you can see, breast cancer is a wide-spread disease and greatly affects not only the sufferers, but also their family and friends. My family has also been personally affected by breast cancer, as two of my great aunts died from it
That’s why it is so important to help fund research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. And only through research may we hope to one day find a cure.
It doesn’t matter if you donate money or just buy a pink ribbon – every little bit helps.
These are some of the pink products I bought from work last week. I’m still waiting for the Pink Ribbon Day products to come into the store so I can also purchase some ribbons, pins and other merchandise.
Not much to say other than this is a nice hot pink shower scrub!
This ‘Think Pink’ rubber ducky is super cute! ^___^ Although I don’t have a bathtub in my bathroom, I couldn’t resist buying it, it even flashes different colours!
Dr Lewinn’s hand & nail cream is one of my favourite hand creams, because it smells great and has a multi-purpose formula containing aloe vera and vitamins A, B and E. It not only moisturises the hands but also conditions the nails.
As a special for October, the normally $19.95AUD hand cream is on special for only $9.95 and 50c from every sale will be donated to the McGrath Foundation.
As I already have a full tube of this lovely hand & nail cream, I will be giving it away as a prize for my very first blog giveaway! Keep reading to see how you can win
