My latest makeup tutorial features Ga-in’s dramatic look from her MV ‘Irreversible’. This is the look she has at the beginning of the video where she finds the bag full of money in the river.

Interesting fact – the MV was filmed in Sydney, Australia! Aussie represent! ^___^

My little sister Rebecca (who is a K-Pop fanatic) has urged me to do this look for months, she’s always on the lookout for interesting K-Pop makeup looks for me. As much as I love to do K-Pop tutorials, alot of the times the makeup is too natural and simple to recreate. You guys know me, I LOVE style and drama!

As well as the original MV, these are some of the photos I used as inspiration/reference for the look. I couldn’t get a decent screenshot of her makeup from the MV (only the top photo is actually from the MV). The other photos feature the same makeup look but they’re the CD cover and promo photos for Ga-in’s ‘Bad Temper’.

Overall, I was quite happy with how the look turned out (I did a quick trial the night before). The most difficult part of the eye makeup was drawing the blue crease, because the line has to be very smooth and fluid and it was difficult to get the right curve. Also, Ga-in has monolids whereas I have double eyelids, resulting in a slight difference in the final look (her wing is also more exaggerated). So there is definitely room for improvement in terms of the eye makeup.

I do think this makeup look would be the most flattering on girls with monolids, because of the blue crease. For those who have double eyelids like me (or very deep-set eyes), the blue crease disappears behind our own crease when the eyes are open.

As with all my celebrity makeup looks, I like to complete the whole look from head to toe. So I donned my short black wig which I bought from eBay (YES, it’s the same wig I wore for my Harry Potter tutorial haha!). I pinned up the loose bits of hair at the back to achieve Ga-in’s very short hairstyle.

For the outfit, I wore a sexy black and gold lace dress from 7 Angels (I believe it was $7 – super bargain!), with a faux fur vest over it. I bought the vest this Winter and it has kept me warm many-a-times! It’s labelled as the brand ‘intofashion’, but I bought it from one of those local Asian clothing stores which sells all sorts of random brands :P And my shoes are a pair of black patent Tony Bianco peeptoes. I bought these from a different Tony Bianco factory outlet than the one I talk about in my last blog post. Similarly, they were also 50% off the marked down price, which ended up being $40.

In terms of the accessories, the gold chandelier earrings (would you call them chandelier earrings??) are surprisingly similar to the ones Ga-in wear in the MV. I’ve had them for yonks but don’t think I’ve ever worn them – fits my hoarding philosophy that unused items will always come in handy one day lol. There’s a few shots of Ga-in’s big rings in the MV, so I just chose 2 silver ones that I had. I like wearing big rings but the problem is they never fit me very well (these are a size XS but they still slip around on my fingers). All of the jewellery are from an Australian fashion jewellery retailer called ‘Diva’. Alot of their products are overpriced for what they are but they do often have sales where things are $2 to $5.

And just a few edited photos (by edited I mean using the Fade tool on iPhoto – I suck at Photoshop!) of me trying to emanate the dramatic and melancholic feel the MV lol

And this is how the makeup looks with my long hair – definitely wearable I think! But dare I say, I actually prefer this look with the short hair? What do you guys think? :)
